The gallery is an interactive exhibit that highlights Dubai’s humble beginnings as a Bedouin fishing village.The ‘Past Dubai Gallery’ takes you on a multi-sensory journey that uses historic exhibits, audio-visual presentations, projections and specially fabricated scents and mists to bring the Dubai of yore alive. The museum tells the story of the city’s origin, detailing its evolution to the global microcosm it has grown to today.
Present Dubai is the stunning skyline of the city that you see from the Sky deck level. Glass walls on all sides offer uninterrupted views of Dubai, “Old Dubai” to the north, and “New Dubai” to the south. Your ride up to the Sky deck is an experience in itself because the glass panels allow you to watch the views unfurl as you make your way up. The level also boasts a state of the art 25 sqm glass bottomed sky deck. As long as you’re not acrophobic, you will savour walking on this platform that gives you the feeling of walking on thin air.
Once you make your way back down the other arm of Dubai Frame, the Future Dubai Gallery exhibit awaits you on the mezzanine level. The gallery takes you on a futuristic journey with stunning visuals projected on the insides of a vortex tunnel. The tunnel is enhanced with technology that uses augmented reality to paint a picture of Dubai in the future. The special audio and visual effects give you a feel of being encapsulated in a time machine that is speeding towards Dubai from 2050.
